5 Evergreen LinkedIn Post Ideas for B2B Freelance Writers

4 minute read

Whether you’re time-strapped due to client work or looking to fill up your bandwidth, posting evergreen content can be especially beneficial for booked and busy freelance writers who want to stay visible on LinkedIn.

Evergreen posts are timeless as they retain their relevance over months or years. You can repost evergreen content to your LinkedIn profile periodically throughout the year to gain more traction without investing more effort.

Even if you’re not fully booked right now, the evergreen content ideas in this article are a great way to show your credibility and attract clients. These are all examples of what I call lead-generating LinkedIn posts — content that speaks to your ideal clients, communicates what they need to know to hire you, and shows your expertise. It never hurts to remind them what you can do to help them!

So, let’s take a look at five options you can try for your B2B writing business…

5 Evergreen LinkedIn Posts for B2B Freelance Writers and Copywriters

These five post ideas, specifically for B2B writers, help you show your expertise, communicate in your prospect’s language, and generate leads. Starting with…

1. Share Your Prospect’s Top Challenge and How You Help Overcome It

If you’re listening closely to what your prospects are telling you on discovery calls, then you know their top struggles. They could be facing challenges with content marketing or with finding the right content person for their efforts.

Use one of their struggles and share how you help clients get through it.

For instance, in the below post, I share how one of my clients was struggling with an agency before they hired me. My client offers complex tech hardware to boost processing time for AI software, and the agency just “didn’t get it.”

Other examples could include:

  • A client was struggling with SEO, and you helped rank their key blog posts on SERPs.
  • A client was searching for the right person to help them create product-centric content, and how you helped them with it.
  • A client was unsure of creating case studies, and you executed their case studies end-to-end, coordinating with their customers and internal stakeholders.

What have your clients and prospects been telling you? Use the classic Problem-Agitate-Solution technique of copywriting to write your evergreen LinkedIn post.

2. Share Your Writing Process and Results

Sharing your process for executing various writing projects not only tells clients that you know what you’re doing but also opens up conversation with peers to share their frameworks and what they do differently.

In this LinkedIn post, I share my blog post writing process. Document your writing processes for various content projects and create a batch of evergreen content for your marketing.

3. Share a Case Study and/or Testimonial with Project Details

Nothing builds credibility like a project successfully completed and publicly applauded.

Create a case study similar to the one I did for a website content overhaul project. You can create case studies for any content projects — white papers, case studies (meta!), blog posts, grant writing, LinkedIn profile writing, etc.

Include information about the project… what the client needed, the approach you took with the project, your process, and finally, the testimonial.

4. Share a Sample of Your Work

Sharing published pieces on LinkedIn can boost your credibility and provide prospects with an easy way to see the result of your work.

Often, a client will look at a sample and go, “Hey, I need something similar for my business” and reach out to you.

However, instead of just dropping a link to a published piece, add more context to the post. Share your process, the client’s expectations, and their feedback on your work.

To make it more dramatic, share any challenges you encountered while working on the project and how you tackled those.

In my LinkedIn post below, I share context about the topic of my blog post and its significance in AI development today.

5. Introduce Yourself

One of my favorite pieces of evergreen content is the introduction post. It’s the blend of personal and professional.

There are no rules. Your introduction post can be what you want it to be.

Want to establish credibility and authority? Go for it. Want to share behind-the-scenes of your business? Okay! Want to open up more about your personal life, family, hobbies, etc.? There’s space for everything.

Here’s my introduction post, where I first share what I do and for whom.

Then I mention some facts about myself that will help my LinkedIn community get to know me better, not just as a professional but as a person.

At the end of the post, I ask readers to share something about themselves in the comments. And I add a recent picture of myself.

There you go! Write a batch of evergreen LinkedIn posts using these ideas. And keep reposting them throughout the year. This way, you can stay visible on LinkedIn without having to stare at a blank page each time. AND you’re staying visible not for the sake of it; your content actually builds authority and credibility.
