That's so cool you got to watch your father creating layouts for his advertising work!

Once I saw the difference between copy presented in a standard Word doc and copy presented in a wireframe, I became a big fan. The structure of the wireframe really makes a big difference.

Thank you for addressing a curiosity I've had since learning to copywrite.
I'll definitely want to use wireframes!
My father was in advertising, many years ago (and now long gone), and his brother followed suit, in the advertising world (pharmaceuticals). He loved working in Illustrator. I remember seeing my father creating, manually, the layouts and oftentimes including the copy. So it's been hard for me to imagine creating copy and handing it to a client without structuring the layout of the copy.
As a somewhat newbie to this field, and coming from a design product development background (apparel & home both I was creative AND technical) I just assumed the copywriter, who created the "copy" also would create and structure the whole page layout.
I was never a fan of working in vector applications, (too many click-click, click-clicks on the tools, lol) or I definitely would've learned graphic design more and have done most of my visuals using a combination of hacks and sometimes ms publisher.
