I wouldn’t mind having a 2nd monitor, though I’d have to clean off my desk (ha ha). I used to use two monitors at my job before I retired, but haven’t done so at my home office. For backup, in addition to my external hard drive, I’m also using CrashPlan as an online backup for all my files. It’s fairly inexpensive, easy to use, and and works great. My computer is a Dell 5000 series laptop. I use s wireless router, and I have an HP5600 All-in-One printer. I think my future laptop may have a solid state drive–what do you think? I’ve heard they are faster and more rugged. And maybe a little fancier laptop that, like yours, can be used as a tablet as well. But not until I wear out my Dell.
